Our best attempt at going to a pumpkin patch was a trip to Pumpkinland in Orem (on 10/25) as we were headed up to my mom's for her ward's Halloween party.
I say best attempt only because it was the closest we came to a pumpkin patch outing. Not because we had any success there.
Since it cost money to get into Pumpkinland, and Caleb's idea of being photographed smiling next to a pumpkin turned out disastrous (see above photo), we didn't actually go into Pumpkinland. Instead, we just let Caleb play in the store area and then continued on our way.
Playing seemed to be a much more effective method of picture taking. So while I didn't get a "classic" shot of Caleb with a pumpkin, I really love these. This is what my baby is actually like. (Although some days, he's quite the ham for the camera. Just not when pumpkins are involved.)
Oh, and a quick sidenote to the post below (about Smith's). At our ward trunk or treat, this couple whom I don't know asked me how the pumpkin pictures turned out. As you can guess from my blog, I had no idea what they were talking about due to the billions of pumpkin photos I've attempted this year. Apparently they saw us at Smith's taking pictures in the bin and recognized us as being in their ward. Caleb has many adoring fans -- it's not the first time he's been recognized by people Brandon and I don't know (okay, the other time it was one of his nursery leaders, but still).

Karen you capture the best pictures. How do you do it? I need to learn some skills at taking pictures when our child comes. Let me know.
