Here's Caleb and me on the bus into NY.
Since Jocelyn was going to be here for my birthday, she asked me what I wanted to do to celebrate. I told her I really wanted to see a broadway show. So we decided to go on Tuesday, since that's when it fit in our schedule best. We headed for Times Square since you can buy discount tickets there.
The TKTS place was sold out of every kid friendly show, except for ten single seats to Mary Poppins. We opted not to do that one. The guy working the window told us that two year olds were only allowed into The Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins, otherwise you had to be six to get into a broadway show. So we went to the box office for the Little Mermaid and bought tickets to see the show that night.
That left us with several hours to kill, so we took the subway to FAO Schwartz and let the boys go crazy. Caleb really enjoyed the subway ride this time. And he enjoyed the toy store even more.
We ended the night by seeing The Little Mermaid. Despite Caleb's grumpy face in the picture, he really loved the show. He didn't have a nap that day, and with all the fun at the toy store, he was pretty tired and cuddly. But he stayed awake for the whole show, clapped enthusiastically after every song, and was only a little scared of Ursula (and only when she was trying to be scary). He was really concerned every time Ariel's dad left the stage and kept asking "where did her daddy go?"
