Scripture Power

One of Caleb's favorite toys, not that he gets his hand on them too often (for fear of accidental toddler destruction):

Scandalous

Caleb was in bed with a girl! Totally scandalous. Actually, I'm not sure that it's the first time it's ever happened. But it was the last night he got to be with Naomi, and somehow they ended up in bed together. :)

And a few of Caleb by himself:

I remember the days way back when he couldn't reach the door handle. Now he doesn't think twice about it.

Out of the Basket

From the same day (1/6) as we chased each other around the house.

This last one turned out blurry, but his smile was just too cute not to post.

A Book in a Basket

I don't know where our card reader is. But since it's been forever since I blogged, I figured card reader or no card reader, I needed new pictures. So I used the camera cord to my lost camera and downloaded the pictures straight from the camera to the computer.

An hour later, I finally have new Caleb cuteness on my computer.

These are from January 6th. The red bin is what we store Caleb's toys in. And since it's been forever since I had new photos on my computer, I just couldn't choose which ones I liked, so you get them all.

Helping Nana

Caleb loves washing dishes. He can stand at that sink for hours (if we let him) and play in the water. He loves to pour the water from one dish to another, or fill up his bottles and dump them out again, or even to take the scrubber brush and start cleaning away. If only it would last.

A photo for your viewing pleasure, from December 30th, as I was making dinner and Caleb decided dinner making that evening was boring and he'd rather wash dishes. I told Brandon to quick grab the camera and Caleb gave him a big ol' cheesy Caleb grin.

Tonight, as Caleb was washing dishes, he kept repeating a phrase that I'm pretty sure was "helping nana." Brandon at first thought maybe he was saying "Happy New Year," but when I asked him if that's what he was saying, and he tried to repeat me, it was clear that he definitely wasn't saying that. So I'm sticking with "Helping Nana," as it's the only thing that makes sense. Now if only we could get him to pick up his own toys...

How to Avoid Eating Dinner

Last night, Caleb didn't want to eat dinner. He hasn't wanted much to eat for the last couple days and dinner is typically his worst meal when he's in a not eating mood. He laid his head down on the table and smiled up at us so cute, that we no longer cared that he wasn't eating.

Instead, I told him not to move and ran to get the camera.

I put my camera down to finish eating dinner. Less than three minutes later, Caleb was asking me to take his picture again. This is the pose he gave me when I picked the camera back up.

I find it hard to take pictures of other people's kids since mine is such a ham for the camera. All I have to do is get it out and the kid will smile. Such a good little model I have. If only my good little model was also a good little dinner eater. Oh well. We're not all perfect I guess.

Partying the Night Away

Happy new year! We rang in the new year with a party at our friends' house. Lots of yummy food and fun games. Caleb refuses to sleep anywhere but his own bed, so even after all the other kids were asleep, he was still running wild. Then again, he was up to ring in 2008, so why sleep through the switch to 2009?

Caleb watching a movie (which kept him entertained for a good five minutes).

Then came 2009. Kisses for the sleeping Naomi.

Kisses for a barely awake Naomi.

The best she could reciprocate was a very sleepy head hug.

Hugs (and a bit of dancing) for Daddy.

Our family in 2009.

Family kisses.

Daddy wanted kisses, but Caleb said no.

Mommy got lots of kisses though. Even super long kisses so Daddy could try and capture one with the camera.

Finally asleep at 2 am!
