Cupcakes

Last Sunday, we celebrated Caleb's eighteen month mark once again, but this time with his little girlfriend, Naomi, who turned eighteen months this past Tuesday. This time, I made cupcakes instead of a cake and bought actual birthday candles.

Naomi and Caleb blowing out their candles.

After we relit Caleb's candle -- Naomi's version of helping no longer involved blowing candles.

Caleb was hesitant to try his cupcake. He tasted the frosting a little, then finally consented to trying the whole thing. It helped that Liz was the one feeding it to him. He loves Liz.

I think he liked his cupcake, but he took the tiniest bites and got bored with it pretty quickly. Which just left more for his mommy to eat.

Naomi, on the other hand, never really got past the licking frosting stage. She rejected the cupcake straight out when Liz tried to get her to take a bite. Let's hope they both get past this cake aversion before their wedding. Or maybe they'll have to have a watermelon cake sans the cake.
