Birthday Cake

We were looking through some old pictures earlier in the month of March and found a couple of my second birthday. Back in the day, my mom used to make us fancy birthday cakes. Looking at the pictures, I decided Caleb needed a fancy birthday cake for his second birthday too. And since this might be the last birthday Nana is with us for (since we plan on moving out of Utah), I elected her the official birthday cake maker.

Caleb loves the movie Cars, so we decided on a Cars birthday cake.

And one with the candles lit a little later.

We showed Caleb the cake after it was made and he loved it. Though I'm not sure if he realized it was a cake.

Mostly he just wanted to play with the cars on the cake.

Brandon moved the cake to the top of the fridge for safe keeping. Before Caleb had even finished dinner, he decided it was time for the cake. He pushed a stool over to the fridge and figured that should make him tall enough to get his cake down.

He loved being sung to. And when it came time to blow out the candles, he did his darndest.

I wish I could show you how cute my baby looked with birthday cake all over his face. But I don't have a picture of that. Due to the fact that Caleb didn't take a single bite of cake. Not even a taste of frosting. Nothing.

He had his cars. He was content.

That is a cute cake and he looks like he loved it. I bet your happy he hasn't touched it yet. Good job.

How cute! If Naomi had seen the cars she would have done the same thing, but she doesn't ever eat her birthday cake anyway. Well do you know when and where you're moving yet? We miss you guys!
